The Third Door is metro Atlanta's newest event venue, inspired by Prohibition in the Roaring '20s. Located in historic Marietta Square, our versatile joint merges vintage and modern elements to create an event space perfect for weddings, corporate gatherings and parties of all kinds. Whether you're looking for an intimate sit-down event for 30 people or a bespoke standing-room-only shindig for 99 of your closest friends, there are a few discreet details we've incorporated into the design to bring a little bit of swanky Prohibition character to serve as your perfect backdrop.
THE FIGURATIVE THIRD DOOR
The name itself hits on all six when it comes to Prohibition. Inspired by Murder Knocks Twice: A Mystery (speakeasy mystery series) by Susanna Calkins, The Third Door is a nod to Chicago's most notorious fictitious speakeasy. The novel’s 1920s joint is filled with glamor, mystery and excitement — like the space we’re creating for you!
THE LITERAL THIRD DOOR
What fun would a speakeasy-themed joint be if it didn't have an actual secret door? In the 1920s, hooch parlors were hidden behind a false façade, called "blind pigs" and often had peep-holed doors in the back of the business to access the bar. So, where is the actual, literal third door? You either need to know your onions or mind your beeswax...
ART DECO DECOR
Art Deco became popular after World War I and is a blend of bold geometric patterns, bright colors, unique craftsmanship and exotic styles from around the world. To recreate this Prohibition-era style, we've incorporated materials like reclaimed wood countertops and floors, stamped tin ceilings and vintage floral patterns to give the Office a real hotsy-totsy vibe. But don't cast a kitten if this style doesn't jive with ya — our Jalopy Gallery serves as your "white box" to transform for your event's unique style. It'll be a blank space with all of the bells and whistles, from floor to ceiling stage curtains, drop-down countertops, picture rails and lots of space for music, dancing or simply hanging out.
TEMPERANCE TRAILERS
Although we're a speakeasy-inspired event space, we don't have the hooch. That's where our sister business, Temperance Trailers, comes in. By day, our Jalopy Gallery will hold these vintage rolling beauties as a showroom, but by event time, these babies will can sit in the Pump Yard, ready to serve the giggle water with a vendor of your choice. Dry? Temperance Trailers is also perfect for serving java and dunkers or for playing photo booth for guests. And if they’re not your bag? Too many beaus to cut a rug with and just not enough room? Don’t fret, pet, they can skedaddle to their second home and give you The Third Door all to yourself!
LANGUAGE AND ATTITUDE
Dry up, grab your glad rags and get your gams on the dance floor. From the names of our gathering spaces to our wicked sense of humor, we use '20s flapperspeak and gangster slang on the regular. Try to keep up, ya dig?
